July 2, 1963: Bob Dylan attended a civil rights gathering in Greenwood, Mississippi and sung, ‘Only a Pawn in Their Game,’ a song he wrote about the murder of activist Medgar Evers.

    1. Thank you, Susan. My daughter wanted to know what’s the big deal about Bob Dylan. She had heard many references about him and heard briefly some of his music, but she just didn’t get his contribution. I gave her some historical context and invited her to listen to this song. I invited her, also, to go out into her world and use her youthful energy to be that courageous and honest and so generous.
