In a time of ICE detentions of our neighbors, government neglect of vulnerable nations facing crises like Ebola, the abandonment of working people at home, the abandonment of unhoused community members, poetry and conversation are not luxuries. They are acts of witness and resistance.
Join me and fellow poets, collaborative musicians/composers brought together through the Joyful Abundance Project, an initiative of the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia, for a poetry reading and discussion.
My work will still continue to ask the hard questions and insist on a more compassionate world.
